The Bike Friday pick up

March 1, 2016

We haven’t touched the boat since it arrived as we have been working on our house getting ready to put it on the market. Today was no different, but between sanding and painting, I did take the time to drive to pick up our Bike Friday foldable travel bikes. Luke and I spent 2 hours in the car, driving in the rain once we reached Eugene, OR and then 2 hours back home after a quick lunch at a Hawaiian mixed plate shop. The bikes are awesome! We took them for a test drive as soon as I put seats and peddles on them. They pack so small and ride just like a 26″ bike. In fact, I rode one for a few miles today to test the gearing and the smaller tire size wasn’t noticeable.  Some people have taken these cross country and around the world. I guess ours will too, but mostly floating on the ocean.  These will be fun and useful to have on the boat. We did order every movable part in the stainless steel to help with rust prevention.  Lisa wanted SDSU Aztec colors, so I granted her wish.
